Evolution & DNA Evidence
Full program: video.google.com Mutations in human DNA are used to show relationships and evolutionary history. Mitochondrial DNA — maternal DNA — is used to construct evolutionary trees. Since the findings from the Human Genome Project and other studies linking human DNA to that of primates, there has been an enormous amount of research producing powerful evidence of evolution in DNA. Since the publication in 1859 of Darwins ORIGIN OF SPECIES, debate over the theory of evolution has been continuous and often impassioned. In recent years, opponents of Darwins dangerous idea have mounted historys most sophisticated and generously funded attack, claiming that evolution is a theory in crisis. Ironically, these claims are being made at a time when the explosion of information from genome projects has revealed the most compelling and overwhelming evidence of evolution ever discovered. Much of the latest evidence of human evolution comes not from our genes, but from so-called junk DNA, leftover relics of our evolutionary history that make up the vast majority of our DNA. Geologic time; change through time; Darwin’s theory of evolution; evolution as a mechanism for change; the nature of species; the nature of theory; paleontology, geology, and evolution; and determining the age of fossils and rocks. Four “case study” examples from the fossil record – evolution of vertebrate legs, evolution of birds, evolution of mammals, and evolution of whales – are presented to provide a time perspective for understanding the evolution of life on Earth.

how do random mutations occur? is it enviornmental?

Google it.

I’m no scientist, but I did study Music Theory in college.
It wasn’t just a guess. It’s precise, but not absolute. At the same time, it’s somewhat plastic in nature. It’s a foundation of an art form; a place to build.
From what I did learn of science, it seems to be the same.

Meiosis in general always produces variation, because of the “crossing over” that occurs between the parents’ chromosomes.
Environments just make it hard for organisms, so the ones without the traits suited to the environment will probably go extinct. (ie: moths living in the woods that have a brown color are less likely to be eaten by birds than white ones, classic example).
Great video.

Random mutations can occur naturally as well triggered by what you could call environmental factors.
Keep in mind that DNA is a chemical molecule and it is pulled apart and recombined by other molecules (proteins basically) and mistakes can occur where the wrong base is “written in” however there are also checking proteins to try and correct the errors but it isn’t a perfect system.
Radiation, viruses, chemicals, age, etc can all influence the rate at which your cells recode DNA incorrectly.

Mistakes by the MRNA, radiation even…

The term “theory” in the scientific community indicates that it is strognly supported. These people don’t seem to understand that scientists use the term differently than they do.

The attempt to explain the formation of the genetic code from the chemical components of DNA is comparable to the assumption that the text of a book originates from the paper molecules on which the sentences appear, and not from any external source of information.

Random mutations are often errors in replication. They can be caused by other things to:

“Everything You Know Is a Lie” By Lloyd Pye on video google. Time to stop the bullshit. We aren’t the only ones on this Earth that can speak for nothing. WE DONT FIT INTO THE NATURAL ORDER OF THINGS ON THIS PLANET! Its time for peace, love, and time to be one again.

•World known Swiss scientist Dr. A. E. Wilder-Smith (who recently died), with three earned doctorates in science and considered to be an expert by the United Nations, confessed after seeing the fossilized dinosaur tracks and men prints within inches of each other at Glen Rose, Texas, “…all this makes evolution impossible.” And so it does.

You idiot, I have been to those tracks. Everyone knows the foot prints were made much later.

It isn’t a LAW of science and it isn’t a fact?…
A scientif theory is composed of facts… arraged as axioms…
A scientific law supports the theory…
In evolution such laws include the following LAWS OF EVOUTION.
The law of indepentant assortment
The law of inheritance
the law of the law of segregation of characteristics.
laws on which the facts/axioms are based.. to support the theory.
This video is bearing false witness… since it says there are no laws governing evolution…
January 6th, 2010 at 10:34 pm
Did you know that there are scientific laws which govern evolution?
Real bone fide laws… accepted worldwide…
The law of inheritance – a mathimatical model to predict inheritance
The law of indepentant assortment…
The law segregation…
All laws….known scientific laws… which coupled with axioms arranged as facts have become the scientific theory of evolution
A scientific theory is the highest attainable model…
January 6th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
music theory is in fact different…
In the academic science a ‘theory’ is a qualified model… composed of axioms which are a combination of facts and laws.
eg. The theory of Gravity is supported by the Laws of gravity and the known facts about gravitational forces…
However things like music, art, food preparation, etc. have a philosophical theory which does not require such ridged rules.
Evolution in fact has more proof in its model than gravity, string theory & quantum entanglement
